We offer three types of gift wrappings: fabric gift bags, reversible fabric gift wrappings and furoshikis. Our reusable gift wrappings are just as flamboyant and attractive as their paper predecessors while offering longevity and cost-effectiveness over time. Ficelle & Baluchon is an environmentally responsible business both in its output products and its production processes. From design to delivery, every effort is made to ensure our products have the least impact on the environment. Amongst many others, we promote local purchasing, we maximise our base material use and we use upcycled fabrics, compostable envelopes for shipping as well as 100% recycled cardboard for labeling. We are most proud of having generated no waste to date, with our production of more than 2,500 gift wrappings ! All base materials are used, down to the littlest bit of thread! We even upcycle our suppliers´ packaging or recycle them as a last resort. Don´t be surprised if your delivered order includes upcycled material in its packaging !
Being environmentally responsible also implies being socially responsible. We strive to hire people who are most likely to live in isolation to encourage the maintenance or development of their social network while benefiting from ethical work conditions. We also support social causes that are dear to us. In conclusion, being environmentally responsible is the basis on and around which our business is built.
Our gift wrappings are conceived, designed and developed in Quebec, Canada. They are carefully hand-made, down to the last detail. Each fabrication step has been carefully designed to offer a top quality product that will last. The result is such that the gift wrapping is a gift in itself.
Our reusable fabric gift wrappings are very easy to maintain. Ironing with steam at medium temperature setting will erase creases. If needed, they can be machine washed cold on delicate cycle and hang to dry. Once dry, ironing with steam at medium temperature setting will restore them.
Our fabric gift wrappings are as easy to use as traditional paper gift wrappings and can easily be stored. Their reusability make them more ecological than those found in big-box stores which are often single-use and non recyclable. Why shop for hours for wrappings that will not last.
